I AM A SURVIVOR: THE AFTERMATH
As a society, we are too desensitized about gun violence. It doesn’t always end in death. What about the people who survive it? I AM a SURVIVOR is a rotating exhibit that will feature different people from all backgrounds.
This exhibit examines gun violence in America in a different way by profiling survivors something we don’t always see. The exhibition features the photography work of Stephanie O’Conner and video by Zarian Hadley.
I AM A SURVIVOR explores survivors and their testimonies of healing and recovery from gun violence through a series of photos and videos. We want to encourage dialogue, change the way people think about gun violence, and challenge people to think before using a gun for senseless violence. A bullet may not have a name, but the person it hit does. It’s time to humanize their stories.
